Linda Carrara (b. 1984) was born in Bergamo, Italy and lives and works between Milan and Brussels. Carrara first studied contemporary art at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan and then went on to finish her Masters in Fine Art at the Kask School of Gent; during 2014-2015 she studied with Michael Borremans.
Carrara’s work has been dedicated to mimetic painting, illusions, and transfigurations, in the creation of surfaces that ‘insist on the ambiguity of their own substance.’
Her work has been shown in Italy and internationally with recent solo and group shows at ICA (Milano, IT), Centrul de Interes (Cluj-Napoca, RM), Contemporalis (Paris, FR), Boccanera Gallery (Milano, IT). She was a finalist for the Premio Cairo in 2022.
